Many Norwich citizens are frustrated with the current political system. In part, this is because the lack of timely information about the Council's agenda leaves them with little to do but protest after poor decisions are made. The Council needs to make it easier for citizens to get the facts about important agenda items, whether through newsletters, web pages, or other means, so everyone can participate in shaping Norwich's future.
The Council needs to care about your opinion. I will listen to your concerns and opinions, because I care about Norwich, today and for the future.
The City should focus on developing infrastructure and let the private sector renovate buildings and deliver services.
A city with adequate parking, good traffic patterns, a cutting edge communications system, and easy access to utilities will attract developers without relying on generous "incentives."
The development of nearby reservations has given the region a much-needed boost in the wake of severe defense cutbacks, but we should be careful not to put all of our eggs in the tourism basket.
Norwich's picturesque image is compatible with the high technology industries that will provide well-paying jobs in the future, and the Council should be as eager to attract them as they are to work with the casinos.
